Summary

The city of Birmingham has lots for legacy system dating back 35 years. This data has been exported as CSV files, but needs a generic way to create an insert into SQL databases.
 


Full Description

An python library has been written to take various CSV files along with a schema file, parse all the data, generate a sql database, and insert all the data. The biggest challenge here is dealing with normalizing all the data and also data types and data conversions.

A command line script has been writing so that all this information can be processed in batch modes.

A web frontend has been developed for configuring the system, and for interactively submitting and converting data.
