The Idea

Vancouver is a beautiful city but sometimes it can be a little grey and rainy. We wanted to build something that considered the mood of our city at any given time and place. We also wanted to build a complete, simple and beautiful project within the allotted time of the Global Urban Datafest. 

To provide a simple overview of the mood of a city we plotted individual moods on a map in realtime. To avoid the project being simply a passive experience we thought it important to require user participation prior to revealing the results of our informal survey of moods. And to further encourage participation we made participation anonymous. In looking at the plotted map of the city we're given a sense of the a city and its neighbourhoods moods.
