Join us and over 60+ designers, developers, tinkerers, and innovators for a weekend dedicated to developing ideas and hacking hardware.
Take part in the Intel smart cities hackathon as part of the global urban datafest - a multi-city hackathon, a weekend of intense collaborative coding. We bring together two diverse groups. One is developers, data scientists, open hardware enthusiasts. The other includes urban experts, journalists and specialists in all other fields. Diverse teams typically produce best results. This is why we invite people of all backgrounds to participate. Our goal is to bring the hardware community together to get our hands dirty and come up with cool ideas in the process.
Come to the hackathon and bring your ideas from the back of a napkin to a full working prototype in just two days with the help of industrial design and hardware experts and a whole host of amazing tools. Haven't made a hardware device on your own before? No problem! Everyone is welcome, and teams will need a wide variety of skills including design, marketing, software development, and project management among others.
The Hackathon is being hosted at the City of London's first Fab Lab - with over 4000 sq.ft of event space, 3D Printers, Laser cutters, milling machines, electronics lab and vinyl cutting equipment. It's a creative space that provides open and membership based access to digital fabrication tools, an electronics lab, education workshops, making events and a vibrant community. We help individuals and companies learn about the application of digital technologies, rapid hardware prototyping, 3D printing and sustainable design practices.
There will be over £3500 in cash prizes to be given out over the weekend. Please note the winners will receive a cheque in euro denomination.
